"The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing."
(Qur’an 2:261)

The amount of Fitra is $10 per person, and it is required for every Muslim who has sufficient means, including on behalf of dependents such as children. Fitra must be given before the Eid prayer and serves two purposes: to purify the fast from any shortcomings or mistakes, and to provide support for those in need so they can also take part in the joy of Eid.
Zakat becomes obligatory once your wealth reaches the nisab threshold and a full lunar year (hawl) has passed while you still possess that amount. The amount of Zakat is 2.5% of eligible savings and assets, such as cash, gold, silver, investments, and business inventory, after deducting immediate debts.
Masjid donations support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the mosque, including utilities, cleaning, and facility upkeep. They also help fund educational programs, community services, and religious activities that serve the needs of the community.
